Autism Therapy

Therapy Services

Here at F.A.C.E we offer different services. The strategies used in sessions will depend on the child’s age, situation and their development.

Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses play to help children deal with emotional and mental health issues. By using play as the medium, children are able to explore their feelings and share them with the therapist that they might not be able to share with parents or care givers.

Play therapy is non-invasive and provides a way for children to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. Play therapy is widely recognised as an effective therapy that works at a child’s own pace and helps to improve children’s mental health and well-being.

Counselling for Children

Families And Children Empowered offer private and confidential counselling for Children and Teenagers suffering from emotional and behavioural difficulties. We support children through their difficulties they may bring to the sessions.

Parenting Skills Sessions

Parenting together skills sessions is an approach to parenting skills which aims to promote managing children's emotions and behaviour in a constructive and non- judgmental way.

Therapeutic Life Story Work

Therapeutic Life story work is an innovative and exciting way for children, parents, carers, and their social workers, to look at the child's history through a therapeutic lens. Life story work helps to establish open and honest conversations, between young people, their adoptive or foster parents and social workers.

Social Skills

The purpose of Social Skills training is the aim to teach and develop social and behavioural skills that may be absent or ineffectively used.

To provide a caring environment for children to learn by encouragement, experience and practice. As well as working on developing the skills within the group sessions, it is important that these are followed through at home as this will increase the chances of success.
